About me
Brief biography
Born in Franconia, I completed my very ordinary school career with the Abitur (university entrance qualification) in Erlangen. Thanks to my parents, I was raised from an early age with Tibetan Buddhist ideas, developed a keen interest in Tibetan culture and the political situation in Tibet during my youth, and, through extensive experience abroad since childhood, I was born with a wanderlust for another world.
In 2015, I received a scholarship from Tibethaus Deutschland e.V. for a two-year Tibetan translator/interpreter training program (LRZTP) in Dharamshala, northern India.
After successfully completing the Lotsawa Rinchen Zangpo Translator Program, I returned to Germany, began working as a translator and interpreter at Tibethaus Germany, and enrolled at the University of Hamburg a year later to study Tibetology under Prof. Dr. Dorji Wangchuk.
Since spring 2024, I have been working as a freelance translator/interpreter and Tibetan teacher.
My teachers
My incomparable, wonderful spiritual teachers H.E. Loden Sherab Dagyab Rinpoche, H.E. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, and venerable Shenphen Rinpoche have, in their great kindness, accepted me as a student and have continuously guided and supported me on my path. With deep gratitude, appreciation, utmost respect, unwavering trust, and great devotion, I do my best to follow their advice and recommendations and work tirelessly to realize their vision.
This would not be possible without the unparalleled competence and kindness of my highly esteemed and wonderful Tibetan teachers Gen Tenzin Wangdak and Gen Franziska Oertle, who have equipped me with the necessary tools to do what I do and are thus the cause of all my merits.
Buddhist roots
Thanks to the great kindness and support of my incomparable teacher, H.E. Loden Sherab Dagyab Kyabgön Rinpoche, and my dear parents, I was able to “not be parted from the perfect lamas or the pure ways of dharma” (from ‘The foundation of all perfections’ by Je Tsongkhapa). With my birth, my parents found their way to Tibetan Buddhism and became disciples of H.E. Loden Sherab Dagyab Kyabgön Rinpoche. Therefore, I grew up in the vicinity of the Buddhist center Chödzong in Fürth, which became the Tibethaus Germany in Frankfurt in 2005, and already as a toddler I sat in Buddhist teachings.
At the age of 13, I took part in my first Lamrim study program, at 17, I flew to Singapore for the first time to visit a friendly Buddhist center (GSDPL), at 18 I traveled through Asia and visited various spiritual places, and at 19 I moved to Dharamshala to learn Tibetan under Gen Wangdak and Gen Franziska, thereby expanding and deepening my Buddhist knowledge and understanding.
Since the age of 21, I have been interpreting for ven. Shenphen Rinpoche, the resident teacher at Tibethaus Germany. Since then, he has taught me in my Buddhist studies, accompanied me on my learning journey, and repeatedly and with great patience brought light into my spiritual darkness.
Tibetan roots
Having been connected to Tibetan Buddhism and thus also to Tibetans since childhood, I was interested in everything to do with Tibet from an early age. My interest grew through my travels and my move to the Tibetan capital in exile, Dharamshala. There I found a new home among Tibetans, which was so much more familiar to me than Germany could ever be.
I studied Tibetan script and language for two years under the Tibetan Geshe Tenzin Wangdak la and the Swiss Franziska Oertle, and also received introductions to Buddhist content in Tibetan. Through my intensive studies and living with Tibetans, I absorbed not only the language but also the entire Tibetan culture.
Since 2018, I have also been studying Tibetology in Germany at the University of Hamburg under Prof. Dr. Dorji Wangchuk in order to expand and deepen my knowledge so that I will be able to preserve and pass on the Tibetan language, culture, Buddhism, etc. in their purity and beauty.
